The art of making business friends
When I first heard of the term networking it sounded quite confusing to me. I really had no idea how to “network” and how could it benefit me or my business. Honestly I learned by following my instinct, by talking to people and being accessible.
As the CodeMyConcept grows (even faster than expected) I have learned that PSD to HTML is not the only thing we do, we create relationships with our customers, with bloggers, with other companies in our niche and we need to keep and maintain those relationships at all times.
Quickly, I noticed this was the best way to do networking, so my first set of networking tips is about how to manage yourself:
1. Be responsive
2. Be yourself
3. Be clear about what you do and what your company is about.
4. Talk to everyone and anyone
5. Do not judge a book by its cover
People like people, so always act as yourself and be assertive. Once people feel they are getting a script out of you and not the thoughts of a successful and helpful human being they will lose interest and you will lose a partner, a customer or even worse a friend.
