Media want us to be enemies, but the truth is our work combined is what can save the World Wide Web of terrible websites that could have been awesome if the designer or developer would have been on the same page, or the owner had hire them and hadn’t tried to do it himself. So many PSD to XHTML conversion can be saved this way.

Our secret weapon is communication that is why here is our call of alliance to all web designers out there:

Do not design a website who asks the user which version they’d like (high bandwidth or low, HTML or Flash) because it would rest quality to your work.

Flash is just a tool, good for delivering animation, video, interfaces, shopping carts, functionality, to name a few, but this does not mean you need to create your entire website in Flash, and if you do you will be at a severe disadvantage to your wiser competitors. Thanks for HTML5 existence!

Do not try to reinvent the website navigation this would only confuse the users and probably won’t come back and the client do not want that. Drupal themes can help you a lot!

Please avoid using any type of music on your website: it is distracting, annoying and will probably drive away people, not to mention there is absolutely no reason for you include music unless you are a musician and in that case, set up a play list and give people the choice to play your tunes.

Don’t distract your visitors with blinking or scrolling text, animated GIFs, or auto-loading sound; help the PSD slicing process. These could be distracting and the website won’t look so professional.

Always keep your visitors’ interests in mind; after all they are the ones using it.

Image backgrounds scream “amateur”, because it’s mostly amateurish sites that use them. Sometimes is very distracting too because people wants to know what is the image about and it would add load time to your page. The easy the PSD to XHTML conversion the better!

Include a way to get back to the home page and a menu on every page, people likes to go back to the main page or look around the easiest way possible.

Increase the line spacing to improve readability.

Use a spelling checker even though you are a spelling genius they would always be a typo, Murphy’s Law.

Don’t underline words if they’re not links and explain why you are linking it.

A great design can be unfulfilled because the CMS is not the right one; each one has their own limited capabilities that can be over done if you make a design too complicated. Keep things simple and real, there are different kinds of CMS’s that can support all kind of multimedia but for example a simple WordPress template won’t be enough.

It is time to wake up and see we both need coffee to survive; insomnia is a life style and clients are… great to deal with if we are together. So it is time to stop this foolish war because peace is not optional!

You also can find all kind of Wordpress Templates specially created to comply with specific needs and requirements in order to prevent any chaos of information and that also work as some sort of guide to know what kind of website it is.

If you like blogging and sharing your thoughts with your readers, then WordPress is for you.

More than pretty colors, WordPress themes can be updated to match your brand, it is a great business addition too, you can post anything you find interesting, present latest news or product updates which also allow you to create a closer and better relationship with your clients.

You also can find all kind of WordPress Templates specially created to comply with specific needs and requirements in order to prevent any chaos of information and that also work as some sort of guide to know what kind of website it is. They keep it easy and clean.

Some of the benefits are:

Multiple page layouts (home, archives, single column, etc.)

Photoshop files can be edited to match your brand.

Widget Ready with custom widgets that blocks of extra functionality.

Ad Monetization a strategic place holders that you can use to sell ad space or promote your own products.

With totally free download, it meet the growing needs of a popular blog, or blog branding of a new society, of course you can always pay and buy a domain name and webhosting.

WordPress acts as a very powerful Content Management System, it can store images, audio, video, pdfs and other documents for easy insertion into your pages. This scalable model can be used to build a simple brochure-style website, a business blog, an eCommerce site or a multi-level membership site. You named it WordPress does it.

It also is very extensible, the plug-in API is well documented and works well, so there are literally hundreds of plug-ins that extend what its original tools do, such as an integrated blacklist and open proxy; so the actual functionality is nearly limitless to play with and have your page look and do things like any other you have seen before.

Lay back and let it help you with:

Comment spam is not an issue as preinstalled Akismet is blocking spam in the background. It has excellent maintenance and security tools.

It takes care of all back end upgrades, bug fixes and security issues. When there is a new version, you don’t have to go through the upgrade routine every time.

Automatic backups

Easy to manage.

Easily accessible publishing platform.

Visitors can leave comments on individual entries; you can enable or disable comments on a per-post basis.

Built-in user registration system that can allow people to register and maintain profiles and leave authenticated comments on your blog.

And if there is something wrong and you have no idea of what it is, WordPress forums can give you a hand, and here you can find a lot of experts in the topic ready to help you out.

It is great working with Traffic Spikes, dugg (when the web site becomes virtually unreachable because too many people are trying to access it) with confidence as they balance your server load and keep your site working in spite of the huge increase in-site traffic.

Fresh, unique content is essential for getting good search engine rankings, so keep in mind updating the <body> because a website that is never updated will be ignored by our friend Google.

And you can do all kind of websites, not just blogs, there are eCommerce and business internal newspaper to name a few. WordPress latest update is WordPress 3.1 and allied with JQuery can make your site one of the kind, you can download it here http://wordpress.org/download/

For security issues you can find the following features:

Show all comments before they appear on the blog.

Comments with specific words in them.

Comments posted from specific IP addresses.

Code My Concept just trained a whole new group of excellent PSD to HTML coders and they are starting with great results, but why is that every team of coders CodeMyConcept trains are ready to write kick ass codes?

Code My Concept just trained a whole new group of excellent PSD to HTML coders and they are starting with great results, but why is that every team of coders CodeMyConcept trains is ready to write kick-ass code?

PSD to HTML training:

First of all they go through a set of theory classes about how to write totally awesome code for menus, div basics (header, sidebar, body, and footer), galleries, videos, etc, just to get things started. The second step is the most important: all trainees go to war practice, where they must survive intensive cases of completely difficult and general subjects like theme html; this taks place throughout just a month where the supervisors control the progress level in order to decide when they will be really ready to start working in the floor.

Quality:

Our Quality Team is completely committed to achieving Pixel Perfect; if it is not right then these guys are going to make it right, make it happen. As a first step they must become HTML coders Masters and then go for cross browsing domination, check if the HTML code works in all of the major browsers Safari, Explorer, Firefox, Chrome and Opera; and of course, spelling practices. You might know them; they constantly talk to you when your website is in process.

PSD to WordPress training:

We’ve got faith in these guys! With Google as their best friend, they have to master PHP and Javascript (you must already know HTML and CSS or some coding level to be a friend with these guys) and after a month of full, extensive practice they are ready to go for it and completely blow our minds with awesome wordpress template, wordpress themes or custom wordpress.

PSD to Magento training:

After 4 months, these guys are ready to make your website the best salesman ever, but don’t get us wrong, this is not in any way an easy training. Magento is one of the most difficult CMSs to code. Why is that? Because it must be easy to understand for the final client be able to use it, have the right Magento theme and make css templates come to life.

PSD to Joomla training:

With a full control over logic programming, they are ready in a month to make any joomla template, joomla theme you throw at them and we mean anything. They must master component creation in order to work your website.

PSD to Drupal training:

They go in pursuit of any “Do as I command” programs out there that do not let them work in totally synchrony with your PSD. With the new release of Drupal 7.0 it is necessary to know front and backend programming, how to use views to be able to master any Drupal theme or Drupal Template and become your best ally in only a month.

Customer Service training:

Your every day friends, those guys maybe have it the worst of all: in our particular way of customer service, there is not a script to follow, every customer has their different problems or questions that our representative must answer with full quality and they must be capable to give out a concrete answer in order to satisfy your questions.

This is how we become awesome, the Certified CodeMyConcept training!

There are a lot of Twitter feed plugins for Wordpress out there but all of them have something in common, they fail to load the tweets when Twitter is overcapacity and that happens quite often.

There are a lot of Twitter feed plugins for WordPress out there but all of them have something in common, they fail to load the tweets when Twitter is overcapacity and that happens quite often.

I was having this problem with a customer and he wanted it fixed so I was thinking to myself how I am supposed to fix the Twitter Overcapacity problem? That stupid Fail Whale is not something I can control.

I kept trying different WordPress plugins but they all have the same problem, so I decided to a little research about the Twitter Goodies, after all if it is the Twitter Goodies it should not fail that much, at least that what I thought.

I ended up using the Twitter Goodies to load the feeds to the WordPress theme because it does not fail when there are Twitter Overcapacity issues, but then I faced another problem: It is not that easy to style the Widget to match custom designs. But there is also a way you can tweak the CSS to match your original design.

This is how the complete process works:

1. Go to the Twitter Goodies page: http://twitter.com/goodies/
2. Select Widgets.
3. Click on My Website.
4. Click on Profile Widgets.
5. Customize the widget: In this step you need to configure all the widget settings, like the number of tweets to display, colors, etc.
6. Click on “Finish and Grab Code”.
7. Paste that code wherever you want the twitter feed to be located in your theme.
8. You are going to get something like this: Screenshot1 goes here.

You will probably want to hide the top and bottom bars so that the feed matches your original design, it is really easy to do:
1. The script is going to output an HTML code so all you have to do is hide the top and bottom bars with css.
2. The code will be something like this:
.twtr-hd {
display:none !important;
}
.twtr-ft {
display:none !important;
}
3. You can also change some colors with CSS.

That’s it, you can now have a functional Twitter Feed that matches your design.
